”Melissa Lewis é uma membra dos Great Khan acampada perto de Quarry Junction no Mojave Wasteland em 2281.
Enredo[]
Melissa é a filha de Chomps Lewis e membra dos Great Khans.[3] Ela não nasceu uma Khan, mas se juntou a eles depois de passar por duros rituais de iniciação.[4] Ela e dois outros Khans estão aguardando um carregamento de drogas no Great Khan encampment encima de Quarry Junction.[5] Normalmente, os suprimentos seriam guardados em uma máquina de pedreira em Quarry Junction, mas por causa da infestação de Deathclaws, ela suspeita que ainda está em Sloan e precisa de ajuda para obtê-lo de seu contato.[6] Embora ela não tenha muito a oferecer, ela ficaria grata a quem ajudar espalhando uma boa palavra sobre eles dentro dos Grandes Khans.[7]
Melissa segura uma posição de responsabilidade[8] dentro dos Grandes Khans, como líder de seus batedores, que dobram como traficantes de drogas.[1] She, like the rest of her tribe, is wooed into the alliance with Caesar's Legion. Totally fooled into believing that she has all the makings of a speculatore, completely unaware that Caesar's Legion does not allow women into its ranks.[8]
Melissa não tem nada a ver com Jessup e McMurphy que emboscaram o Courier com Benny, e não sabe de nenhuma outra gangue Great Khan tão longe no território da NCR quanto ela (não que ela de bom grado expulsaria um colega do Grande Khan).[9]

- Don't Make a Beggar of Me: Melissa precisa entregar um carregamento de drogas, mas como ela e sua equipe não conseguiram passar pelos deathclaws, ela envia o Courier para buscar.
- Oh My Papa: Melissa é uma das quatro pessoas que Papa Khan vai ouvir, o que significa que ela pode dizer a ele que a aliança entre os Grandes Khans e a Legião de César é uma má ideia.

O sotaque da nova zelândia de Melissa foi resultado de uma falha de comunicação entre Joshua Sawyer e outro desenvolvedor que ignorou suas instruções para que todos os personagens nativos de Mojave Wasteland tivessem sotaque americano. Embora Sawyer tenha dito que foi uma boa atuação, o sotaque forte não foi intencional e quando ele ouviu as falas, já era tarde demais para mudar.[11]

Melissa Lewis: "Supplies to make chems. The NCR's the best source since they're hard to come by anywhere else. We don't really use the chems ourselves, just sell them to anybody with the caps. If it ends up hurting the NCR in the process, that's a bonus."
Courier: "Seems like an odd place to pick up a delivery."
Melissa Lewis: "The Khans and the NCR don't get along - they prefer to shoot us on sight, even if we're not looking for a fight."

Melissa Lewis: "Right. All right, here's the deal. I was expecting a shipment of chemicals. It's usually in a suitcase dropped off in one of the big machines up here. Because of the Deathclaws, I have to assume that the suitcase is still in Sloan. Snoop around the place and get it for me."

I'd have seen 'em."

Joshua Sawyer: "I won't name names, but someone ignored an explicit instruction I gave that all characters native to the Mojave Wasteland should have American accents. By the time I heard her recording (in game) it was too late to change it. It was a good performance, it just wasn't what Melissa's accent was supposed to be."
