Support combat skill[]

Throwing is essentially a support skill and not as a major combat skill.

The better damage weapon like grenades are quite expensive, and spreading damage wide. Thus unless you can hit a bunch-together targets, you are going to deal low damage with expensive cost. The single exception would be EMP/pulse grenade hitting robots, but robots is a rare type of enemies in both Fallout1/2.

The normal damage weapons like throwing knives deal damage too little for the kind of AP cost it requires. The act of recover thrown knives after battle is also quite time consuming (compare to other kind of weapon) yet if you dont do it the supply will run out very quick.

The single exception is flare, with its 1AP cost (but pitiful damage). With it is the critical-dealing method of aiming shots at eyes/groins/legs... Unfortunately, damage is really tiny, and you only do it to create the critical effects (fallen down, or blinded, crippled). The low supply of it is another limiting factor.

Never ever tag it.Laclongquan (talk) 15:54, March 10, 2020 (UTC)
