A Washington-emlékmű (Washington Monument) az Egyesült Államok egyik nemzeti szimbóluma,egy óriási obeliszk a főváros, Washington, D.C. központjában elterülő National Mall parkban, ahol többek közt a Capitolium is található. Az emlékmű George Washington elnök tiszteletére épült.

Története

Az emlékművet sok csapás érte, és nagyon labilis, de még mindig büszkén tornyosul a Mall romos épületei fölé. Távolról nem lehet látni a falakat amiket a Testvériség állított az épület köré, védelmi okokból. A környék szuper mutánsai gyakran megölik az ide rendelt szerencsétlen Paladinokat.

Az emlékmű valószínűleg legmagasabb épület a játékban, és a térkép minden szögletéből lehet látni. A legfelsőbb emelete pedig lekörözi Tenpenny Tower erkélyét.

Szerkezet

Amint belépsz, rögtön szemközt lesz egy lift, amivel felmehetsz egészen az emlékmű legtetejére, ahol Three Dogfel állított egy kis lakóhelyiséget, hogy innen korrigálja az adása tisztaságát, de neki otthon kell maradnia, hogy mindig friss hírekkel lássa el a Pusztát, tehát ide sosem jön el.

Notes

You can use the Monument as a home of sorts because it contains a usable bed and dropped items don't seem to disappear.
The Monument can be seen from high locations all around D.C. To the north of D.C. you can see the top of the monument but looking at your Pip-Boy map you actually don't face the monument according to your marker, even though you're facing it in the game.
There is a hidden area within the gate surrounding the monument (there is a gap to the left of where you first enter the gate). If you go through the gap and go around to the back of the monument (western part of the exterior), you will find an ammo box, a missile launcher and three missiles in that spot.
The Washington Monument is one of the two buildings that can be seen from almost anywhere in the Capital Wasteland, the other being the MDPL-13 Power Station.
The monument is guarded by the Brotherhood of Steel's 2nd Monument Defence Detatchment, led by Paladin Berrings.

The Washington Monument appears in Fallout 3.

Behind the scenes

The actual Washington Monument is built almost entirely of masonry; there is no steel framework in the interior.

Bugs

Sablon:Platforms Sometimes, fast traveling from the top of the monument will cause the elevator to stay on the top floor, upon re-entering the Monument you are in a room with blacked out hallways and only the elevator is accessible. Entering it causes you to go down to the bottom floor and then have to go all the way up again.
