Arefu egy apró település ami csupán 4 házból áll.Vault 106-tól Észak-Északnyugatra, egy omladozó híd közepén helyezkedik el.
Történelme
A hivatalos kézikönyvben azt írják, hogy Arefu valaha sokkal népesebb volt mint 2277ben. A külső támadások miatt a népesség nagy része elpusztult. A túlélők elpusztították a híd északi részét, hogy az ellenfél csak egy irányból támadhasson. Arefu a The Family nevű banda célpontja, és az első állomás a Blood Ties nevű küldetésben.

Notes
- An Enclave outpost can be seen after the player completes The Waters of Life, on another section of the overpass, visible to a player looking out from the highest drop-off point.
- There is an Easter egg in the lake under Arefu, if you look east out into the lake, when standing next to King's outpost you can see a dock extending from the south shore with a footlocker and a first aid kit on it. Jump down (into the water so as to not get hurt or die) and swim over to the platform. Stand on the platform (watch out for mirelurks) and jump in the water. Swim to the bottom and out away from the platform until you reach an old car at the bottom, next to this car is a skeleton with two cinder blocks tied to its feet. There is a silenced 10mm pistol and ammo box lying next to him as well.
- Upon first arrival at Arefu, the player is greeted by a scripted grenade thrown by its "Sheriff," Evan King.
- You can pick Evan King's lock without a karma penalty.
- After the quest Blood Ties, King will leave his post and walk around and the residents will come out of their houses and walk around.
- Often a robot or some other Wasteland creature will spawn at the entrance, often attacking the brahmin in front of the guard shack.

- A bejáratnál van egy tábla amire az angol"CAREFUL" szó van írva viszont az első és az utolsó betű el van takarva, így lett a falu neve "AREFU."
- Arefu egy kis falu Romániában, fő attrakciója Vlad Tepes/Drakula kastélya.
