Due to massive emissons due to reliance on fossil feuls, the Earth's temperature has increased to a point where life must adapt. Cordyceps, a fungus found in Asia, adapts to these temperatures to a point where it can survive Human body temperatures.

The first mutation occurs in Neutral Thailand, 1 of 7 places real Cordyceps is found in.

Here and in reality, Thailand accounts for the largest amount of Cereal flour exports in the world making up 15.7% of this market.

Indonesia, in reality and here is the biggest importer of flour, with Jakarta having the biggest mill.

Infected Flour soon spreads to Indonesia along with large importers of Thai flour Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Singapore, Vietnam and China.

The mill, owned by Indofood, creates products such as noodles, cereal, flour and pasta products, ofwhich Indofood is the biggest producer of noodles.

From here the infections spreads to the floowing countries through the export and importation of Indofood products;

Australia, New Zealand, India, Iraq, Papua New Guinea, Hong Kong, Timor-Leste, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Canada, Canada, United States, Taiwan, Egypt, Syria with the already infected nations of Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Cambodia and China. From these countries, infected food could be exported to every country.

However, the world is not completly lost, Cordyceps live in Humid, Tropical, Temperate areas where they are abundant. Due to Climate Change, prehaps only the Poles could be safe from infection.

Major infection areas would be that of Bangkok, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Jakarta where the tropical climates allow for rapid infection. Thailand due to its reliance on Bangkok is the first to collaspe. European and Middle Eastern nations weakened by war fall to the infection soon after.

The paranoid public and government of America blames China for the cause of the virus, citing Bio-weapons claims. China in turn blames America. Both China and America struggle to contain infections through harse restrictions, however both countries were struggling resourcly wise before, making the situation even worse.

West Tek begins research into ways of prevention of Cordyceps Infection in desert areas but fail due to societal issues, while government and influencial figures who are still alive flee to mountains.

Martial law is declared in all nations as robots become the main labour force with the depletion of human resources. The few fuel left was restricted for government use.

Quarantine Zones

Seeing no hope in finding a cure and wanting to prevent the spread, the US and PRC begin bombing campaigns of infected cities such as New York, Hong Kong and others. In areas where infection is slower and not present, military forces establish quarantine areas, one of these is Boston.

Boston

Due to climate change, a 10 degrees increase leading to 3 meters rise in sea levels. Fort Independence and Boston International becomes an islands and important military bases, while the Charleston river divides Cambridge and Boston more, becoming the Charleston Delta. However, Boston climate grew hotter allowing Cordyceps infection and other pathogens to have easier times spreading. However, downtown Boston becomes a peninsular allowing the city to isolate itself. This leaves Boston to become a haven, a city on the hill full of poverty and slums, with people living on the tallest floors of skyscrappers.

From 2053 onwords, Boston eliminates infected people on the many isolated islands that surround Boston. Bombing campaigns continue througn Boston airport. Fenway park becomes the main area for refugees seeking asyllum. The largest of these areas was the reclaimation of Cambridge and Somerville.

Due to the desirability of the safe haven and harse entry requirements, a 'Railroad' factions forms first to smuggle people into the city but then to fight harse restrictions and the return of a democratic government. Due to large barriers on the peninsular, tunnels are the easiest way out and into the city eventhough they are flooded.

Las Vegas

Las Vegas has been the fastest warming city within America since the 1970s. A third of the year will have temperatures over 40 Celsius. However these temperatures would not be close to the 60-70 celsius temperature needed to kill fungus. The warm environment would make it a prime location for fungus spread, with heat waves killing remaining people with no access to cooling and water. Most people would die, though Mr. House would be one of the last survivors. His robot army would put up a fight but would be overwhelmed by the infected. This leaves Mr. House to die alone and isolated in the Lucky 38 unless he was somehow able to escape.

Washington D.C

Potamac river expands to give the White House and Capitol buidling, water front views. During Winter and Spring, floods become common, often taking infected people out to sea. Due to its importance, the military would pour resources into its protection, retreating to the lower part of the peninsular once needed. The city would most likely mirror Boston although the lack of islands would limit the chances of expansion. Government figures would most likely die early due to limited notice, although figures like the President may survive and escape to bunkers such as Raven Rock.

California

Due to rising sea levels, a second bay connected to the San Francisco Bay emerges stretching from Sacremento to Stockon. The warm temperatures of coastal California leave the most areas becoming infected. Isolated communities in the North and Sierra Nevadas survive longer.

Other Notable Cities and Areas

• New York - Though sealevels made peninsulars and islands that could form quarantine zones, the high population and infection during early times led to the city being abandoned. The US government used nuclear bombs on the city to kill the millions infected.

• West Coast - Isolated islands off the coast could provide protection

• New Orleans - Submerged

• Uncontacted Tribes - Mainly survive

• Tropical Areas - Most desired fungus habitat, Codyceps is most abundant here

• Death Valley - Hardest place for Codyceps to grow

• Nuclear Powers - Nuclear bombs are used on abandoned areas with high populations

• Ohio - Hardly changes

• Rockies and Appalachians - House few bunkers built to house people

Some Character Fates

• Nate - The youngest age would place his birth at 2040, making him 13 at time of the outbreak. For fun, yets say he survives and joins the military.

• Nora - Youngest age would place her birth at 2052, making her a year old. Again, for fun, she lives in Boston and becomes a lawyer in government.

• Mr. House - Either die alone or escapes Las Vegas

• John-Caleb Braberton - Nuka-World opened however only Kiddie-Kingdom and Nuka-World USA were built. He never garnered the same attention but remained rich. He might have escaped to Boston where he could still manufacture nuka-cola

• Roger Maxon - Youngest age puts his birth at 2038, 15 at the time of infection.

• Dr. Stanislaus Braun - Most likely an adult and probably in America to escape from war in Europe. The lab or university he was in would likely survive for a bit.

Obviously inspired by the Last of Us' Cordyceps infection combined with Fallout.
