IMO the fact that it’s true is a detriment to the story rumors are a great way to set up a faction you don’t know about the institute but from what you hear there evil boogeymen that replace people would have been nice to then realize the institute is nothing like the rumors and actually have good reasons as to why there doing what there doing. Instead we get a bland I’m evil cause I can be faction now we’re getting off topic let’s just agree to disagree and hope Bethesda improves on the next iteration

Have you ever heard of rumors the institute is the boogeyman, Demond city is the great green jewel lies and gossip spread so yeah I think it’s more like Bethesda didn’t want to explain why a synth can’t be detected because they’d have to actually write scenarios were it does happen and story or you can simply just say nope we can’t detect them nice time saver for the writers o wait Bethesda didn’t even hire a team of writers for fallout 4

So you’re best evidence is a few npc’s saying it. Is this the best we got. So if I say you murdered someone the judge should take my word for it or is it Bethesda sinply not wanting to explain why it can’t be detected

All I see is people saying how it could be done and no hard evidence in game of it being true pretty much taking a plot hole and filling it in for Bethesda it’s lazy writing.

Yeah fallout 1 and 2 got lucky to be made before arm manufactures cracked down on there names use mainly due to games like grand theft auto and others that put these iconic weapons into criminal and murderers hands they took it as bad press even tho some of these company’s had made arms deals with cartels and other criminal organizations irl like seeing uzis in the Colombian drug war so much fun let’s also not forget Reagan selling arms to Iran under the guise of trying to negotiate for hostages

I wish it was more like metro most weapons would have been destroyed or used up by the time most vaults opened.in nv the reason so many guns of high quality and value is because the gun runners still produce many of the arms you see. I guess what I’m getting at is high quality weapons need to be rare while also having good story explanations on why there still around. Nv again does this well in many cases for instance drugs how the hell would any of the pre war drugs be usable and not expired hmmm I know the khans make them and sell them to the fiends Chet in the beginning tells you most drugs you come across we’re probably made by great khans. Little things like this can make a world fall apart we’re does the food come from. The ammo what are caps backed up by to make them valid currency water sources. How are modern weapons still in operational condition how is there still ammo for these weapons without being created what about medicine drug stores don’t magically restock so how is there still so many these are the questions that get deep into the core of understanding how to build a world that feels alive

Yeah the assault rifle is a big wtf type weapon to me it’s huge bulky side inserted clip large barrel it makes no sense but the reason they did it is because “ it looked good with power armour”

T 51 at least in fallout 4 is the most cost effective it provides good stats and dousnt require much more than steel to repair while t 60 and x-01 cost a lot to keep maintained

Overall there will always be bad actors in history and there are many points where officers and even soldiers would arrest there comrades for these crimes there are good people and as the saying goes evil only prevails when good men do nothing

Wytchfinder I’ve read you’re comments on this subject and I can’t agree more many institututions and people of the past were horrible people and did terrible things but we have the luxury of foresight and must see it from the perspective of those who lived back then overall no doubt the minutemen of the commonwealth look back at the minutemen of the colonial times through rose tinted glasses and it’s good to learn and admit the wrongs of the past lest they be repeated but I think the minutemen of the commonwealth are nothing like there counterparts it feels more like an idea that people can rally behind overall it’s easy to see how through little information is left after the war that most are ignorant of this so I would call this maybe new minutemen

Also Tim the nazis had an army called the wermacht many defend them saying they didn’t believe the ideals and just wanted to fight for there country but when you read into it and look up the atrocities and war crimes the common soldier did under the guise of an army. Hard luck blues is a great one pretty much the ncr sharecroppers arnt getting the water they need so you find a vault we’re the leak is and find out that there are people trapped on another side of the vault to finish the quest you have two options drain the water so the vault dwellers can go free or further flood it making escape for them impossible it’s a really hard choice if you sympathize with ncr.

Another one would be west side stealing water from the sharecroppers they have farms and are growing crops and flourishing an ncr ranger was sent to see what was happening with the water and when he found out he was killed by a character you’re options are turn in the murderer and the water gets shut off hurting west side terribly or keep quiet west side has crops and does well but a murderer walks free

It’s Bethesda monetizing things that should already be a part of the game so much content locked behind fallout 1st makes me pissed but I’m proud to say I’ve never spent a dime other than to buy the game

Also the republic of Dave are secessionist so you need to shut that down real quick if we don’t want civil war part 2
