The First Step

I finished the game with the BoS, and have got the rank of sentinel. However, the first step is still an active quest. I started it before I joined the Brotherhood, but never finished it. If I finish it, will Preston still grant me the rank of general, considering I finished the game already?

I recently started this quest on my new (modded) playthrough, but instead of being sent to the coverga plant I was sent to Walden Pond. Anyone know if this is caused by a particular mod or if it’s just a bug?

So I'm doing the First Step quest, and i think i've run into a bug that prevents progression. So I'm at the Corvega Plant, and the quest marker seems to be glitching, as it takes me into the plant, seemingly because there's more raiders to kill to progress to the next stage. But I've explored the inner and outer works of the plant, and i cant find anymore raiders, so naturally the quest should progress, but it doesnt. The marker always takes me back inside, but ive killed everyone inside, and i'm confused as to where im supposed to go. I do have creation club content installed, if that matters. Anyone else experience this bug and can tell me how to fix it? Any help would be appreciated.

EDIT: So upon reading the quest page, it seems that the quest marker represents the head raider im supposed to kill, but it seems he's spawning in an inaccessible part of the plant (i.e, in the ceiling/wall, etc.). I'm on Xbox, so i cant use console commands to fix this.

EDIT 2: Nevermind i figured it out. Turns out i didnt explore the whole plant like i thought i did.
