Had the idea a while ago, think we should still do it but I not good at edit :(
The world of Fallout 4 offers a handful of factions for the main character to join. They each have their own agendas, some of which are more questionable than others, but this being said, none of them are inherently evil. Don't worry, though, because no matter which side you pick, you're still going to be responsible for the most disastrous and heinous crime in the Commonwealth since the Great War. Every faction in the game is trying to defeat the Institute, a collective of secretive scientists that act as the boogeymen of the wasteland. In the final mission, each faction tries to destory the institute's secret underground base, and each one does it in the same exact way. Now, what would be the most efficient way to destroy an underground bunker? Flooding it with water? Rigging it with explosives? Well, of course not! The Sole Survivor and gang would rather overload its nuclear reactor and set off a Chernobyl-sized disaster that's bound to turn the already irradiated Commonwealth into an even bigger wasteland. At this point, joining the institute feels more moral, and even then, your character is still too much of a prick to free all synths, even after getting appointed as Director.

Just wondering lol
Specifically the courier and sole survivor oness
When traveling along The Commonwealth, the Guardsmen following Lt. MacArthur traversed a crumbling bridge to an island, where they an old U.S army outpost known as Fort Spectacle. They eventually settled inside after cleaning and refurbishing it. The fort had a satellite dish and an old vertibird, which upon inspection by one of the Guardsmen’s only official pilots (a ghoul who survived the Great War after crashing his Vertibird just south of Vault 111 when evacuating troops), was in good condition. There was a small armory with a T-60d present and barracks that housed a storage room that was occupied by a few ferals. When searched a bit, 4 T-51s and 9 T-45s were found there, along with frag grenades and mines, plus a few assault rifles and 8 combat weapons. They finally were able to sleep.
[9 DAYS LATER…]
Gen. Drake, along with Nick Valentine, draw their weapons as they sight what looks like a feral ghoul in dirty army fatigues. The ghoul, who was in fact a scout, sights them, and instead of growling and then charging, he holds his hands up and shouts, in a rather raspy voice, “WAIT! I’m not feral!” Drake, along with Valentine, lower their weapons. The ghoul sighs in relief. “Sorry for the scare… my bad. You two look like you could need some supplies. We got some back at the camp.”
”Back at what camp?” Valentine asks. “…I shouldn’t have used the word camp. It’s not even a camp. It’s a fort. Fort Spectacle.” The ghoul gestures for the Drake and Valentine to follow him.
-A FEW MINUTES LATER-
They arrive at the fort, and are taken aback by the fact that the fort is still operational. The men manning the defenses were… gunners? “are you Gunners?” Drake asks suspiciously. The ghoul deflates a bit. “No way in hell.” “So, are you… wait, no… are you the US military?!” Kind of… we”re basically a combo of regiments from the war, such as the 193rd Armored Division. We call ourselves The Guardsmen.” “uh… ok. May I see your general?” Drake asks. The ghoul darkens. “We don’t have a general, just a Lieutenant. He’s a bitch, though, with utterly no respect for his fellow soldiers. Follow me.” D & V follow the ghoul to the general’s quarters, in an abandoned house nearby. The ghoul, knocking on the door, cringed a bit. The door opened, revealing Lt. MacArthur smoking a cigar. “Whaddya want, ya bastard? It’s 6:00 in the morning.” The ghoul, whose expression sours, retorts back with “sir, your clock is off. It’s 10:40 AM.” MacArthur stares at the ghoul, then turns to Drake and Valentine. “So, who’re you two fellas?” Drake looks back dubiously at Valentine. “General Nate Drake of the Minutemen.” MacArthur looks a little surprised. “So, you’re that vault dweller, huh Well, uh, welcome to Fort Spectacle. Don’t mind this asshole here.” MacArthur steps out of the doorframe and takes Drake by the back. “I’ll show ya around. Bartley, get back to scouting.” Bartley, the ghoul, salutes to MacArthur, but with only one finger, and marches off. Drake snickers as he realizes Bartley was giving MacArthur the bird. “What’s so funny?” MacArthur asks suspiciously. “Oh, nothing.” They continue on their tour…
I hate how no one actually comments on these posts, even when I say that comments are appreciated… at least provide thoughts on how to improve it.
Most introductions we have gotten in Fallout are when the main character is a resident of one of the pre-war vaults in the area. Like the Vault Dweller, Lone Wanderer, and Sole Survivor (who also was a US Army veteran), have all been vault dwellers and I think we need a new idea. Sure, the character in New Vegas is a Courier, and the character in Fallout 2 is the grandchild of the Vault Dweller I'm pretty sure, but what would be a good idea for the introduction for Fallout 5?
I personally think something outlandish would be pretty cool. Like maybe in the beginning, you're one of the people who caused the bombs to be dropped on 2077 and still somehow survived 200 years later, or Fallout 5 takes place only a couple years after the Great War and it's during the nuclear winter. I think Fallout 5 should take place during the nuclear winter as we haven't had one of those yet. What do y'all think?
