So here's a list of fractions in my fanfic.
1. Dallas cowboys, named after the football team from Kansas city as the team was traded two days before the Great War. A prodomily violent group, they are armed with sports equipment such as baseball bats, mobile pitching machines, and armored in football and hockey pads.
2. The Corn Pickers, an isolated group of farmers based in Southern Iowa. Armed with basic firearms and farming equipment. They are on of few fractions in the area who use vehicles. Most of their culture is unchanged from before the Great War as there was a significant lack of primary targets in a 100 mile range, the closest bomb was dropped in St. Louis, Missouri.
3. The Paddle Boaters. A group of roaming traders who stick to the waterways of the states of Kansas, Missouri, and Iowa. They are the rements of the tourist boating industry for the area. They use ranged weapons and have a rather large military presence in the cities of St. Louis, and Hannibal.
4. The Illinois State Guards. The largest standing military in the Region. They have have access to high-grade military weapons including a few Minutemen XI missiles which are rigged for detonation if the capital of Post-War Illinois: Mount Vernon is attacked. The States Guard and the Padded Boaters form the superpower for the region after a treaty in 2279. It is unknown if the States Guard is in contact with the NCR but the appearance of States Guards men in the town of Shady Sands in 2280 may just be a an error in writing by an author.
There are more smaller fractions that don't play much of a particular importance to the story. But let me know your thoughts on these ones, I plan on having the story up with in a week or 2 so look forward to it I guess lol.
