I remember several years ago that I used red rocket truck stop as one, and my brother used Egret Tours Marina as one too, though now I use the Castle for the companions

Share your throughts? Im new after 5 years for my first playthrough...
I already completed the main game quests siding with the Minutemen and I'm now playing Nuka World DLC.
I'm going to try Power Play and Home Sweet Home but I want to cause as less damage as possible to the Commonwealth (yes, I'm a good guy, after all) so I was planning to turn into raider camps only settlements with no population. I already ulocked all the workshops but some settlements are still empty.
Before I try this plan, I checked the wiki for advice but I was not able to find any.
Is there anyone who already tried to take control of the Commonwealth with this approach?
If I send Preston to Sanctuary, then I have the Operators take any settlement not near Preston, The Castle or any Minutemen Settlement... like if I have them take Starlight Drive-In, will Preston still be ok?
Hello.
Something interesting about Jackpot and Ballistic Fiber.
If the player completes Nuka-World and conquers all available Commonwealth settlements before joining the Railroad, the Mercer Safehouse quests and the following Jackpot! quests will not activate. They'll be completely unavailable, likely due to there being no available settlements for Mercer Safehouse. This means that the player is effectively locked out of Ballistic Fiber until, perhaps, Open Season is completed.
This may also affect the Minuteman Questline, though this was not tested. However, it is possible to fortify the Red Rocket Truck Stop as a Raider Outpost before recuing Preston Garvey from the Museum of Freedom. This prevents from getting to Sanctuary. He'll likely arrive once the player leaves the area and Garvey's position resets.
In order to do this, Nuka-World was entered at Level 1 using Mine-Blitzing. Nuka-World was completed before returning to the Commonwealth, excluding the mandatory Raider Outpost quests before Power Play.
Video presented as evidence of the Raider Outposts, and Garvey's bad day.
Just started this new save and tried using the workshop in Sanctuary. Whenever I try using it, I get a message saying "You aren't allied to this settlement.”
How do I fix this??
I'm trying to build an inhumane sweatshop at starlight drive-in where countless people are stuck in a building with a locked door (I'm using the powered one from wasteland workshop) and their only two things in the building is a bed and a scavenging station. The thing is I'm worried the settlers won't be able to get any scavenging done if they're stuck in the building, because they won't be outside, but I'm not sure if it actually works like that.
I'm looking for some MODS that add new workshop buildings for FO4 settlements: any advice?
Connie Abernathy appeared in my settlement randomly and idk what causes this, i do have mods installed but none that change settlers
What's a settlement you build a little player home in and kick out any randos that show up? For me, it's Taffington boathouse, but the fact that the roof and walls are open are a buzzkill, so is dumping the mosquito corpses in the river or waiting for them to respawn. My favorite settlement where I basically fulfill Preston's dream of a safe haven for everyone is Sanctuary, mostly because of the size, prebuilt shelters, and the fact that it just feels right. What about you guys?
So a few days ago I asked in a comment under another one of my posts why my settlement in Sanctuary wouldn’t go above 80 happiness. I was told that 80 was a cap for an ordinary settlement, and that you need extra things to bring it up. I figured ok, that makes sense. So I went out and found more of the creation club dogs (which says they generate happiness) and the final two I couldn’t send to sanctuary because it was at 20 (some kind of population cap?). This has not helped. Look at this picture:
My settlers clearly have enough stuff. Do the dogs need doghouses? Also, how am I supposed to get the population up to 30 for a lvl 4 weapons dealer? I’ve also had the recruitment beacon on to get more settlers and it’s not working. Yes, they all have jobs. I heard that there was a glitch with TVs and radios effecting happiness, is this the cause?
Playing FO4 on PC (all DLCs installed and no MODs) I recently experienced some bugs when checking the Vaut-Tec Population Management System in my bigger settlements.
It apperas to report incorrect numbers of settlers assigned to each occupation and/or unemployed. This is happening very often in a couple of settlements where I increased the build limit (by storing my weapons while in "build mode") several times. I don't know if these two things are related or not.
Another bug I'm experiencing lately is the incorrect number of settlers shown while hovering the map cursor on settlements' icons on the Pip-boy: population appear as double! (44 instead of 22, 38 instead of 19 and so on) but not for all settlements at the same time and quite randomly across the map. Some are correct, some are not. Travelling to the settlements fixes the problems as the actual population is not "doulbed up".
I reported them as bugs in the VTPMS and Settlements page in the wiki but I'd like to hear the Community experience about this.
I just completed a concrete building in Murkwater, two storey, full concrete, raised above the ruins. Not so nice to watch but functional.
The only issue I have is that the rain pass through the roof and second floor, making all the bed on the first floor as they were in open air, thus preventng the happiness of the settlement to rise.
Is it a bug or did I mess up with something while building it?
Anyone has similar experience?
So I’m back and absolutely pissed off at the stupid settlement attacks, I was recently doing the Nuka World DLC and I ignored about 5 settlement attacks because I thought I couldn’t get to them. Well it turns out I can go back to the commonwealth and fight the bastards who dare attack my settlements, I only figured this out after I got a notification that the Slog is gonna leave the Minutemen. So I raced back and saw the closet settlement for a supply line was Greentop Nursery so I put 6 people from Starlight Drive In there and connected the supply line. Well it turns out because I ignored those settlement attacks (they all lost btw) THEY TOOK 75 FUCKING PERCENT OF MY RESOURCES ALL MY GUNS, ARMOR, DRUGS, FOOD, JUNK, POWER ARMOR, AND LEGENDARY SHIT. I’m so fucking pissed off I used to be able to make 200-300 basic fucking turrets now I can only make FUCKING NINE. IM GOING TO SKIN THE PERSON WHO MADE THE FUCKING CODE TO MAKE IT TAKE MY RESOURCES.
Hello Community,
Quick one: I was sending settlers from Vault 88 to other places as the works in the Vault haven't started yet (how the heck do I switch off that damn Vault beacon, btw?) and checking the PipBoy workshop screen they were correctly numbered in the new settlement, in this case Greentop Nursery. There were three original settler in GN, I sent there two additional and the new reading was 5. I then fast travelled there and the new settlers, well, one of them was missing and the second one was nowhere around. Vanished, both. The second one was manageble from the Overseer consolle and I was able to assigned it to a vacant job, anyway.
As for the other one, I looked for a body, thinking it could have been a synth, killed by the others settlers but none was found. I did not spent too much brain cells on it and I moved on.
After a short time, I had to head back to V88 for the same reason: happiness dropping, not enough beds and new people still pouring in (idk if I have already said this: damned beacon!) and did the same, sending two people to Northagen Beach this time. Same as before: 3 originals + 2 newbies and the Pipboy read 5 settlers. fast travel there and only one was there, AGAIN: a ghost: listed as unemployed, assigneable to a job but not there in person.
So, this time my opinion is that this may be a glitch or something. I checked the Nukapedia but I did not find anything related.
Do you have ever experienced something similar?
Any explanation?
I'm a bit of a dumbass when it comes to computery stuff. Is there any good mods on xbox for tidying up settlements in fallout 4? Things like getting rid of dirt, shrubs and piles of leaves. Also how do you work mods? I saw some things talking about load orders. Thanks for any replies.
