In New Vegas, whether I do my Ratslayer run through Black Mountain or not, I like to do the tutorial, Primms sheriff quest with Meyers, do the Mojave Outpost quests, do the Correctional facility quests pro inmates and then go back to Goodsprings and fight for the town. Then I do it traditionally.
I do this so I can bump up Powder Ganger fame to Mixed when I free the two at the one camp with Boone and have NCR hit squads on me to get their loot. Of course I do get back on the NCR good side before Boone and stay out of Powder Ganger territory til then.
If you had to carry your companion/partner how would you carry them? I pick 2
(What the title says)
Doing the Omertas quest for Mr. House and was curious if Boone becomes hostile if I complete the quest, obvious it makes Legion hostile, kind of forgot working with House tests your reputation with NCR the more you do for him but I’m curious what will happen with Boone.
Boone has to be one of the best companions the franchise has seen. Speaking so few words but all of them feel so impactful. This game is a gem
I visited a T-Rex tower with Boone and when I talk with him he say:How do you know? and dialogue options appears as I already completed the quest but I never been there. What can I do? Its a bug? Sorry for grammar.
So Boone is my number 1 companion in New Vegas, and I'm bad with the Legion, but I need to get to the fort. So I was going to put on Legion armor hoping it would work. If I put on the armor will Boone hate me?

I should've known better than to send them both to the Lucky 38...
It's kinda tiresome to have to do specific things with specific companions to bond with them better, especially when the game doesn't really tell you that. And sure, saving slaves with Boone and doing tech stuff with Veronica and E-DE make sense but you kinda just have to know that and make sure you don't accidentally lock yourself out of their good ending.
I much prefer the way 4 did that, although admittedly they were going for something different where it was just about trust in 4 and also about things like how you can still do stuff when you're old. Still, where it is explicitly about gaining enough trust, with Boone, I'd hope he understand I'm on his side when we've managed to survive our 30th legion assassin attack after they got mad we saved some slaves from their clutches.
I guess some kind of middle way would be best, where it's not just doing generic stuff they like but also not that you have to micromanage which quests you do with who to not risk being unable to do their companion quests.
So in another discussion, I realised that Boone(a companion in Fallout New Vegas) and Nate(the male protagonist of Fallout 4) are both very similar. Both are honored veteran badasses who had their wifes brutally killed and are wracked with guilt over it.
My question for you is, what companions would be analgous to the other protagonists in other games?
