We know the East Coast Brotherhood has very little means to communicate with the original Brotherhood out west, in fact 3 mentioned how the Outcasts wished to make contact with the original Brotherhood to gain approval of deeming Elder Lyon’s and his followers as traitors to the cause and execute them immediately. But I wonder how they would view the Brotherhood we see in 4, they may approve of Arthur Maxson becoming Elder and as always protecting technology but I wouldn’t be surprised if they disapprove how Arthur made the East Coast brotherhood look no different than the Enclave viewing themselves to be the saviors of humanity and purging those that aren’t human.

Is is actually possible to get "Final Judgement" while on "The Nuclear Option"? I read that all you had to do was get a weapon that can disarm, and then go at him. So, I grabbed a curved ripper (plus I have 5 in big leagues) and hit him for about 15 minutes (just before you enter the Institute, after Prime put the hole in the ground) and then I started wondering if this was possible. So, is it?
I killed elder maxson and escaped alive and accidently quick saves so im stuck with them hating me i killed paladin danse the brotherhood is no more i took them all down so there are a few remaining brotherhood members alive. The old one who survived the recon squad i'm keeping him alive unless he turns agro.I'm the new elder i have elder maxson's coat so i'm the Elder Now.
I wish i had intimidation at that time so i didn't have to kill danse
What would happen if someone put Hancock and Maxson in a room together for a whole day?

Watched an old Shoddycast video on the subject just now and am curious if anyone else believes it could be canon. From what I know of lore wise, the instability between the Fallout 3 BOS, Outcasts and Western BOS makes me believe its possible. Also Arthur being based on the old Sword in the Stone, Lady in the Lake, Excalibur wielding King Arthur of legend seals it as a possibility for me. If its actually true, that gives even more reason to dislike Fallout 4s BOS for me. Thoughts?
In addition, what would you want him to be doing if he appeared in a future Fallout game?

[Warning: Potential Spoilers, mostly related to Fallout 4 and the Brotherhood of Steel]
Well, hello there! I hope this Post finds all of you in good health, and today I'd like to talk about my favorite Faction in Fallout: The Brotherhood of Steel, and I'll be covering the Fallout 4 take on them this time! Now with that being said, imminent bias incoming! Also a few spoilers, but I won't get into those for a little while. And this is by no means saying anyone has to disagree with me, I welcome free thought! The Brotherhood isn't for everyone, I understand that ^_^
So I guess I'll start with why I like the Brotherhood. So it really begins with Warhammer 40,000! The Space Marines are clad in Power Armor and the coolest weapons, and zealously kill all the enemies of Humanity. Does that ring any bells? If I squint and drink a few shots of bourbon I can see the Brotherhood of Steel fitting in perfectly as a Chapter of Space Marines!
But exactly who are the enemies of Humankind, you might be asking? Well at least in the setting of Fallout I perceive the enemies being: Super Mutants, Feral Ghouls, Raiders, and the local wildlife! With Fallout 4's introduction of the Institute, I always see the Synths falling into the enemy category. Basically? Anyone who isn't us. The Wasteland is nothing less than a warzone, and I know who I want to win!
Now where we can find these enemies to Humanity is as simple as stepping outside the Vault for the first time! Immediately we see how hostile the area has become, coming face to face with irradiated insects and mole rats. It would be easy to see how important it is that the common people are protected against such threats! Which is where the Brotherhood comes in, time and time again.
When something goes wrong, it seems like the Brotherhood of Steel is always there on the forefront! Or at the very least they're a supporting group. From the first Fallout game all the way to 76, they've been with us nearly every step of the way. When things seem bad, they keep on fighting! Because 'Ad Victoriam' is more than just a motto, it's a way of life. It has to be, because the enemies are many and they will not show mercy.
So that's how I see the Brotherhood, they are soldiers at their core! Not Saints like the Minutemen, not callous Scientists like the Institute. Something in between, they are cold and hard while still being our protectors. And of course they can't do this alone! Like I said, there's a lot of dangerous things out there and resources are scarce. Even the mightiest army still needs to eat, and that's where donations from the Settlements (usually owned and protected by me under the Minutemen) comes in!
So where's the schism? I mostly see players against the discrimination they see in the Brotherhood. And if that was true, I'd agree! However I don't see the Brotherhood of Steel being rude...but prepared. Let's take a look at three enemies of theirs: Feral Ghouls, Super Mutants, and Synths.
Ghouls, even the non-feral ones, can always turn crazy. Now I don't know about you, but I couldn't trust sleeping in a bunk when the guy above may or may not want to eat me in the morning. That's just being careful not to like Ghouls, at least so long as they're the ticking time-bombs that they are!
Super Mutants, aside from limited interactions like Fawkes and Strong, are more likely to bash a human's head in for fun than chat. And even Strong wholly wants the destruction of our race, he doesn't keep it a secret! If anything was kill on sight, it'd be these guys. Is it capable for a Super Mutant to be good? Sure, but why take the chance?
Synths are created by the Institute, the main enemy of the Brotherhood in Fallout 4! Given that we don't fully understand them even to this day, not trusting them makes total sense to me. Who knows if they can be switched to go Terminator-mode? Or if they are rigged to explode randomly? Even after the Institute is taken care of there's just too many variables to consider!
Now onto another valid concern, the infamous Blind Betrayal quest! So be warned: spoilers ahead. I've already admitted that I like the Brotherhood, but a lot of that is due to their leader- Arthur Maxson! And the reasons I like him are simple: He's a man of his word.
I've already talked about why the enemies that the BoS target are potentially dangerous, though I welcome discussion on the matter! But if we accept that they can harm humanity, then Brotherhood's goal as soldiers is simple: Destroy them. We learn later on that Danse, possibly the closest living embodiment of the Brotherhood of Steel that I can think of, is a Synth.
He's a good soldier. He recruits many of us into the Brotherhood. He gives us a purpose to fight for. He's even in the inner-circle of Maxson himself! But he's still a Synth. And in war there can be no double standards. So with what I believe is a heavy heart, Maxson orders us to take care of it. Not because he or I want to, but because we must.
Admittedly you can spare Danse, and I always do. I talk Maxson out of the execution for one simple reason: I see Danse as a comrade. Synth or not, he risks his life time and time again to protect those under his command! So for this I think he has earned the right to live on, in exile, away from the Brotherhood. But for all the speeches and proclamations that Maxson does, he sticks to his guns. His enemies are Super Mutants, Feral Ghouls, and Synths. And none, not even his friends, are spared.
So this is getting pretty long, and I apologize for that! I really do want to hear what others think! Are you Pro-Brotherhood, are you against them? Did you like them more before or after Blind Betrayal? Which iteration of your favorite? And if you got this far, thank you for reading and have an awesome day! AD VICTORIAM

The Brotherhood are the strong man of the wastes, they harness their sword against Super Mutants, Ghouls, the Institute, and the Enclave! However, are they the best for the Commonwealth wasteland?
Like how they took Arthur Maxson and Doctor Li, and reintroduced them.
So im gonna say something. Comment if you agree. I think Elder Maxon is the most Badass person i have ever seen... I don't know this scar is so... Like complete he's character. Lol im so confused right now
Did you ever hear the tragedy of Arthur Maxson the Racist? I thought not. It's not the kind of story the Institute would tell you. It's a Brotherhood of Steel legend. Arthur Maxson the Racist was an Elder of the Brotherhod of Steel, so toxic and so edgy he could use the his twitter posts to influence the other members to create racism...
He had such a knowledge of racism that he could even keep the ones he cared about from being open-minded. Racism is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. He became so racist… the only thing he was afraid of was losing his racism, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he taught Danse everything he knew, then Danse turned out to be synth. Maxson was so sad he died.
The end
Many of us know of the Brotherhood Outcasts, the band of renegades led by Paladin Henry Casdin (later ranked Protector) who split from the Lyons Brotherhood of Steel in 2277. Many of us also know how the Brotherhood likes to operate, with chapters being able to interpret their beliefs as they wish on the condition that they fulfil their mission.
The Brotherhood Outcasts split from the main force because they felt that Owyn Lyons had "gone native", and that they were not carrying out their mission.
"The Brotherhood came out here to recover technology from the eastern cities and bases. If Lyons won't do it, then we will."
-Henry Casdin
The Brotherhood Outcasts left the Citadel and took a vast array of technology with them, considered stolen by the Lyons Brotherhood. Despite the Brotherhood's official stance on the Outcasts, we see in the Citadel that a few are actually sympathetic of Outcast views. We further see in the future that many members of Maxson's Brotherhood in 2287 had some pretty harsh views on Lyons.
"I'm proud to be serving under Elder Maxson. I had enough of Lyons and his foolish ways." -Brotherhood Dialogue (Fallout 4)
The Brotherhood Outcasts, as far as we know, were eventually let back into the Brotherhood in the Capital Wasteland when Arthur Maxson negotiated with them.
Many of the Brotherhood Outcasts felt that the wastelanders should be left to their fates, as it was not the duty to protect every local settlement.
"We didn't worry about saving individual communities. We worried about saving the progress of humanity itself." -Henry Casdin
They felt their express duty in the Capital Wasteland was to collect technology.
"After all, they say, everyone knows how to make another human, but the secrets to making a P94 Plasma Rifle are all but lost" -Owyn Lyons
The Brotherhood Outcasts disobeyed orders from their Elder, an act of treason, however they did so with the intention of regaining contact with the Elders back West.
"And when we resume contact with the Western Elders, Lyons is going to be put in his place. Even if that place is in front of a firing squad"
-Henry Casdin
The Elders back West have arguably more authority than Lyons, with the High Elder being absolute. The Outcasts did not betray them. In fact, it can be stated by the Head Scribe that actually it was Owyn Lyons that disobeyed orders and was not true to the Brotherhood's mission.
"He's in charge of this detachment, yes. He's not in charge of the Brotherhood. As loyal as I am to the man, I can't overlook the fact that he disobeyed orders, and it cost us. The West Coast cut us off completely, once they saw what was going on. So now we're on our own. No communications, no reinforcements." -Reginald Rothchild
So, we have a force that disobeyed a disobedient Elder on the grounds of principle and loyalty to their organisation's core beliefs. They are not ostracised or called traitors by the overarching Brotherhood chain of command back West. We see that the Brotherhood have beliefs concerning protecting humanity and its progress, but also that they have a duty to preserve and protect technology from abuse. The latter usually takes precedent in most cases of Brotherhood chapters, with Brotherhood soldiers believing they are indirectly saving humanity and its future.
In this way, the Brotherhood Outcast splinter faction could be seen as a more comparable representation to the West Coast Brotherhood.
When asked about the original Brotherhood back West, Casdin has this to say:
"We were collecting still-glowing embers from the ashes of humanity, before civilisations fire died completely."
We see in 2287 that Arthur Maxson takes many lessons of compassion and duty from Lyons, having been fostered by him. However, we also see the Brotherhood in Fallout 4 behaves much more like the Outcasts, with reminiscient "Black and Red" armour. Their members show a more gruff, no nonsense approach and are dismissive of those who are not Brotherhood, very much like the Brotherhood Outcasts.
"If you're not Brotherhood, you're nothing".
-Brotherhood Dialogue if you have not joined (Fallout 4)
However, one could argue that in an army, this is an act of desertion. Also, if members were allowed to leave and form different groups whenever they didn't agree with their Elder, the Brotherhood chapters would struggle to exist.
So, my question to all of you is, what do you think of this? Do you think that the Brotherhood Outcasts were justified? Do you support or condemn their actions? Do you also agree with the fact that they were let back into the Brotherhood, and that some traitors might be lurking amongst the Brotherhood in Fallout 4?
