Side note: I finally found a way out of my Bioshock limbo(over which game I like more). I like 2 more, but that’s mainly because of the gameplay, certain characters(Eleanor, Subject Sigma, Alex the Great, Augustus Sinclair, etc) and the fact that I get to play as a hulking big daddy. But Jack has a more defined past than Delta, and his journey is much more meaningful than Delta’s( Jack takes down Rapture’s head honchos, while Delta goes after some bootleg Andrew Ryan and her cult that came out of the ashes). And though I haven’t played the System Shock games, I get a feeling that Bioshock more closely emulates their gaemplay(albeit a bit simplified). So yeah, if you want an experience in the vein of system shock, go for Bioshock. If you want to play as a badass big daddy, go for Bioshock 2. You can go for both as well, there’s no wrong choice.

Bioshock 1 > Fallout 1

Thats a personal take. Of course im very happy for the OG Fallouts because thet set up the world we know and love. Bioshock had the convince of technology and a basic format (aka System Shock) to benefit from.

Fallout 3 and Bioshock 1 have in common the "grand" reveals of the location. In both, your character steps out of the old world they knew and into the new one they don't. It's a very important moment and a major component to both stories. Bioshock tends to make it more spectacular. Fallout's purpose is a barren wasteland. Thus, the "reveal" is just the "awe" of destruction.

Edit: Bioshock 2's DLC was some of the best Bioshock content we've ever gotten. Minerva's Den was so good! Gravity Well alone was worth experience
