I mostly agree with you but the one thing i dont agree with is the armor being bad. its actually really good if you upgrade it as its effectively just a really lightweight but slightly worse combat armor at max level. but yeah it doesnt look that great.

Pretty meh. They're not even good at being villains or being good people. They're just so shit at both that it all balances out to being such meh people. Even their speical and unique equipment is just blah.

You can't even love to hate them. You can't even make memes about them that gain any traction with the fandom. A good villain would make everyone passionate enough to hate them on sight, but they can't even manage that. Most people are just like "ugh, that guy again."

Honestly the institute is just that one faction that sits their that isnt even hated, its just disgusting. plus, the only thing you do with them is either take over the commonwealth, or get them to integrate with the commonwealth. kinda mid in that regard. the railroad is 99% fetch quests. the brotherhood is 99% grab this for that guy, waste your ammo on wiping out a building while having an annoying scribe run with you, grab documents for this guy, grab blood samples for this lady, go wipe out this place without an annoying scribe, go fuck up the commonwealth more than it was already fucked up, etc. the minutemen? perfect honestly. 99% "go help this settlement then you can do whatever the fuck you want with it". my favorite raider faction from nuka world? none. not cuz i hate them im just indecisive as fuck. im just kinda sitting in the middle with far harbor honestly. only reason im with the children of atom is cuz they give you cool stuff :D
