The show avoids mentioning China and it's very obvious in the first scene. The TV news anchor talks about the negotiations between "America and its enemies" in Anchorage.

It is praised a lot and overrated now but that will change over time when people get sober.

In most of the games, you get a feeling that they are Anti capitalist and anti communist. The show mentions china multiple times, and Vault Tec was considering just delaying peace talks instead of nuking both countries

Are you so dense that you never relaised fallout in general is a massive critique of capitalism. Did the idea of mega corporations destroying the planet and being so powerful that they're all you can find in a nuclear wasteland go over your head that far. Either your not an actual fallout fan or you're really stupid.

Bethesda said it's canon, so it's canon whether you like it or not. And China may not have been mentioned by name, but by using terms like "Reds" and "Commies" it's very obvious who they mean.

They just didnt wanted to have a TV show that says that CHINA is bad! Even if it is! SAD! We know what they did, and the damaged CHINA caused to the US and the world. They launched the first nuke! CHINA destroyed the world!

The US probably wanted to de-humanize china. One way of doing this would rarely be saying their actual name and instead calling them names

I get the series is massively praised and negative receptions aren't understood. The actors are good, the production is big, they did a great job with costumes, props and easter eggs and there had to be someone looking after details on set. Fans are delighted by this unprecedented visual authenticity but it's all superficial. It actually fails in the screenplay and what's actually narrated, like many other streamed series. Plotholes, coincidences and stuff happening because something needs to happen, not because it makes sense in logic and lore. An insult to fans applauded by fans.

I've come across an interesting point. People in Vault 33 are presented as lacking genetic diversity. That's why Lucy applies for marriage with someone from another Vault. However, Vaulters look very diverse physically while living there in number of a few hundreds for generations. It's funny how it's impossible to film undiverse scenes for a new series even if they are needed for the story.

@AngryMonkeTartar I may have missed. Tell me the episode and the minute or approximate part where they say it. Barb Howard formulates it clearly that to guarantee the results they will drop bombs themselves, explicitly, not just delaying peace talks. If they did so is another question since she didn't get her family in safety.

@Ethan Aldrich @Scottcox1991 The previous critique is different from this, it has a certain extent and the originals weren't even intended to be like that. It is more intelligent and not written by modern communists (or apologists). Communists here are always shown to be right. That meeting is a meeting of corporations ostentatiously talking about capitalism, it's not a meeting of the Enclave, a deep state organization. The role of main villains was callously moved to Vault Tech, which didn't do Vault experiments.

@The Appalachian I have to get over the fact that companies abuse and ruin franchises and call it canon one by one. Fallout fell now (by propaganda) or already in the Bethesda games (by incompetence). They call them "enemies", "reds", "commies", which is exactly that avoiding like censorship. It's obvious to you they mean China (if they don't retcon) but they'll try to hide it from new audience in the future. Anyone new will have Russians on mind. Fallout 4 from 2015 could say it yet.
