I like the Courier. Not because they're from New Vegas, but because they have (almost) no forced background story. It gives you more freedom to roleplay as whatever you want to be.
I like the Chosen One. An interesting potential character who is not only a tribal of the wasteland but also the grandson of the original Vault Dweller. He defeated the Enclave by nuking an Oil Rig, drove a Chrysalis Highwayman, his companions included a Super Mutant Sherrif and a Intelligent, talking Deathclaw.
I like the Lone Wanderer just because of his/her story
...the sole survivor was badass, can blow so much stuff up, and all that other stuff.
Fr tho, a brain-damaged mailman single-handedly carrying southern nevada makes the government look like a joke.
Lone wanderer, but I had to vote courier because FALLOUT NEW VEGAS. I liked the background and freedom of choice, and I hate Nate and Nora with a fiery fury.
Honestly, I know this is going to be an overrated choice but I think the Courier by far is the most interesting protagonist because of how mysterious they are. They just have a lot more potential for their character than the other protagonists. Sole Survivor is by far the most developed yet the character still manages to feel really weak and boring. It also disappoints me that you can clearly see Nate is the intended protagonist over Nora; probably the first time we see the story have a clear preference for a player character being a certain gender.
I prefer the Courier because we know absolutely nothing about them.
I am curious why the currier. We get 1 DLC about the courrier but it is filled with vagueness and also little backstory of said character. So to me the Courrier is the bottom of the list. I almsot chalk it up to why is because FNV is beloved but not because the Courrier has a intense background story. He's a mailman. Now I won't pretend I know what happens in each Fallout game if I never played F1 or F2. But I know in F 1 and F2 there is a pre existing character without vague "who is this person". The Courrier has history(oh god I said the word) with Ulysses but other than that. No one knows him/her.
But if we are talking about lets say in game main storyline quest then who is "better". Skill wise I am not sure since the Courrier does a dangerous job at being a mailman, but he never faced off with the Enlcave and aliens like the Protag in F3, and also the protag in F2 also faced off with the Enclave. F1 the Master was raising a super mutant army, who are far from the FNV, F3, F4 versions which is also very dangerous. The courrier basically is just a drifter who goes between dangerous lawless territories and in FNV he is a protag in a destabilized conflct zone between NCR, and Legion, but then you have unorganized raider groups and criminals. Ironically, NV might be the safest place just because of how many unwalled settlements there are in NV.
But of course that is how I interpreted the question in this poll and I am not going agaisnt anyone elses choices and saying it is wrong, I jsut felt the "FNV is best Fallout game, which means protag is also best"
The courier is HIM. He survived getting shot in the head, killed the guy that did it, rallied several of the mojaves most hostile tribes to fight for his faction of choice, beat a giant robo scorpion in a fight, heisted the sierra madre, AND he did it all with a big iron on his hip.
I can't pick... i get bad karma on all of them (if i can) and it works well with my play style... i have to pick the Lone Wanderer because i played as him first
What do you think?
