N2-77 is a suspected synth posing as a runaway. The runaway part is true, but so is the synth part. N2-77, otherwise known as “The Synth”, preferring to be called “Nora”, is a rogue Gen 3 synth that was originally supposed to replace Major Connie Shaw of the Minutemen. However, there was a change of plans and she was modified to resemble the Sole Survivor’s dead wife, Nora, to hit home with the Sole Survivor and attempt to persuade them to join the Institute, so they could rejoin their “lost love”. A year after the Sole Survivor joined forces with the Railroad and Minutemen, Institute agents entered Vault 111 and removed the original Nora’s body from the vault. Using extremely advanced tech, they revived her, using N2-77 to interrogate her. Nora was then transferred back to Vault 111, where the cryo system problem was remedied by Institute mechanists. She was refrozen due to the belief that the Sole Survivor wouldn’t come back to Vault 111. This, in part, was true. They sent N2-77 to find the Sole Survivor, who was inside of the Castle, an old military fort. There, she attempted to persuade the Sole Survivor to join the Institute. He refused, albeit tearfully. She realized that they were pushing at his sorest spot just to get him to be a scientist. N2-77 retaliated, leaving and sending a message to the SRB announcing that she was leaving and that they could try to get her back, but would fail. Eventually, they caught up with her in 2289 after cornering her in an old bookstore. She was eventually saved by the Sole Survivor, who then tearily hugged her. They got married or some shit and lived happily ever after because I ran out of ideas and I’m tired
