No, the game is at its core a M(ini)MO. Removing the other players does nothing to shake the issues most people have with the multiplayer implementation, since the content itself is designed as a part of this genre. There are a small handful of missions which do give you the illusion of a single player experience, but those are a small pattering drown out by the ocean of multiplayer, repeatable focused events. The entirety of the single player content could be completed in a couple of hours, were it not padded out by the M(ini)MO grind. Removing other players would inadvertently worsen what content is there, while giving almost no benefit. There's very little negative impact of other players actually being in the world, if any. Maybe it could be annoying if your CAMP is in a popular spot, so you have to set up an alt CAMP location or server hop, but that's about it.
Yes. for me, fallout id my away time. i play it when i dont want to talk to anyone and i just want to do my own thing. i know i dont HAVE to talk to people on 76, but there is always someone who nags me to trade or just follows me around because they want to play with me
Yes. It's the fallout game with the best post-apocalyptic atmosphere since New Vegas, but the ping is annoying.
Considering I have shitty Internet that probably wouldn’t run an online game well and I’m not too keen on multiplayer, yes. I understand what Dyre and others are saying about not enough singleplayer content but given that I spend 70% of my time in Fallout 4 tooling around with and micromanaging my settlements I don’t think that’s that much of a problem. And as far as team events and what not, you could do it where your other teammates were AI-controlled randomly generated wastelanders or members of various factions you were working with.
Yes, because then it would be built for the game to work in single player, and thus have less of the MMO events and scoreboard stuff I hate.
No, it would not affect my enjoyment of the game in any way. You can just ignore the other players for the most part, and team up with them for events and bonus XP. And if you really want to play solo, you can buy Fallout 1st and play on a private server.
If offline means no Bethesda bullshit and no high prices, then yes, I'd enjoy it 300 times more. As I've said before, I have yet to get past the 'press any button' screen.
Nah, it wouldn’t really solve the issues I have with the game. Removing other players wouldn’t really help me since the presence of other players doesn’t cause me any issues anyway. If the game were populated with more NPCs and quest lines more akin to a traditional Fallout game, then I would probably rank Fallout 76 2 or even 1 in my list of favorite Fallout titles. Even with Wastelanders and the BOS addition, it’s still very empty and lacking to me compared to other Fallout titles, and removing the online option wouldn’t remedy this.
I think they should add way more areas to the game to make it more enjoyable
But it's already 4 times as big as Fallout 4, and has 16 times the detail...
What do you think?
