I like to put it this way; common sense isn't so common. Politics, class and racial tensions, economics, could be quite a few factors. Social media to a point could also have an effect since many choose to be dicks anonymously for fun. Perhaps more and more are now bold enough to be dicks IRL as well. I'm not saying that only dicks are dumb, but I would argue that the majority are.

^Indeed. At least my dad tried as did his mother when she raised me. Also got my foster father still in my life. Besides, its due to my parents addictions that I've stayed away from nicotine, alcohol, drugs and even gambling.
