The “Sole Survivor” does not die, not in the same way the Lone Wanderer did prior to Broken Steel, where it was a plot mandatory death. But we do not know whether it was Nate or Nora who survived Vault 111. We only know one of them died when the child was stolen, and Shaun died regardless, only thing unknown is whether it was natural causes (cancer is killing him) or whether it was the SS killing him.
