I can’t really pick one. They broth have there pros and cons. But I have been using energy weapons lately so I would say energy weapons and sniping

I tried to be a sniper once, but it’s not the same as being up close and hammering a thousand bullets into a crowd of enemies trying to land a single blow. Plus I’m bad at sneaking

Me I like to lay waste to my enemies with a hail of bullets, laser or plasma bolts in the form of heavy weapons.

Sniper energy weapons. In Fallout 4, I usually convert the UP77 Limitless Potential and/or Righteous Authority to an overcharged laser sniper rifle.

Combination. Long guns for medium distance, shotties for up-close combat, and sniper when I’m infiltrating a heavily armed location.

Handgun hero all day every day, normally my main is an actually proficient stealth build so I can both get close to my target and not get perforated.

Different weapons for different situations, if you are in an interior location you would be best with automatic weapons or shotgun, if you are outside a long range weapon (rifle or sniper) would be best. Always train yourself with a variety of weapons and expect the unexpected

Sniper as primary with energy as backup.

I have a big iron my hip so I use that (typed while listening to big iron). However in all seriousness I'm a jack of all trades.
