I O W A
Lol @Dubbedsquare I guess it was just a coincidence that the Great Khans were part native tribe - part motorcycle gang and their relationship with the NCR; a faction who seek to emulate the old world United States- is strained in a way that parallels real relations between the US and native nations. No political allegory there I guess, suppose I was mistaken.
Even if you haven't played the classic Fallout games did you not atleast play far enough into the new Fallout games to see the giant robot super weapon that can be programmed to annihilate anyone- even it's former owners- as long as it's convinced they're communists? I suppose I was mistaken in thinking that was an allegory to and critique of Mccarthyism, talking of which: "leftist"? Where'd you get that idea? I might understand Fallout's politics but does that infer I agree with the political outlook of say- J.E. Sawyer? He's not exactly someone you could fit neatly into some political subcategory, most people aren't. Just because someone is willing to think critically about history doesn't mean that they're a leftist - that's exactly what the Fallout games do and I doubt every single person who worked on them held left-wing political beliefs. That's just an irrational assumption to make.
@Wytchfynder That's exactly what I was thinking, too.
New Orleans, Tokyo, and/or South America (Amazon) are my top 3
St. Augustine, nation's oldest city (built by Europeans at least). We know next to nothing about the Deep South, so who knows what could possibly be down there. Personally, I'd like to see an actual postwar nation like a Floridian Free Republic or something that could appear in the game, in a role similar to the NCR in New Vegas. St. Augustine has a ton of scenic areas and a lot of cool history that could be fit well in a game. Also could be swampy areas to explore along the St. John's River. Could be some cool radgators or something.
I think the Great Salt Lake area of Utah would be a great spot as well for perhaps a spiritual successor, but not outright sequel, of New Vegas. Some factions, such as the Great Khans (assuming their Wyoming-Idaho empire building ending was canon), the Zion tribes, and perhaps part of the Montana chapter of the Brotherhood could appear. If the game was set after the events of NV, we could perhaps get hints of New Vegas's canonical ending in addition.
Texas would be badass as well. There's some hints that the Texas Rangers may have survived postwar, so its hardly out of the question that some sort of New Republic of Texas exists. Plus, it's likely that the Legion has probably expanded as far east as western Texas.
Missouri.
With the abundance of natural limestone caves in the state it would be easy for either a Vault-Tec competitor to retrofit them or for whole towns to just move in.
We've also got a huge variety of wildlife that just BEGS to be irradiated and mutated. Imagine walking along the I-70 corridor from Kansas City to St. Louis and you get buzzed by a Glowing Eagle only to have your aim interrupted by a Radskunk's radiation fog musk spray. Then you add in our legendary weather where we end up experiencing all four seasons worth of temperatures in a single day on top of our storms.
I WANT A RAD TWISTER!!!
And don't forget the backbone of America itself: Route 66.
The Show-Me State is just teeming with possibilities.
Norway, fallout sub zero
@Mand'alor the Vault13warrior, Flame of Valhalla Instead of Radgators, have the Gatorclaws from Nuka World replace deathclaws for the entire region.
^even better!
I want to roam around in Times Square and i want to kill people in the empire state building
What do you think?
