Well anyways, I finished grabbing all of the new AE houses last night. Last 4 on my list were Hendrahiem and Bloodchill Manor because they were level locked, plus Tundra Homestead and Shadowfoot Sanctum because they actually cost Gold, and I needed some more potato profits to get them (Potato farm actually makes quite a bit of cash surprisingly.)
The first two houses continue the trend of "Super sweet digs, but hella inconvenient and probably dangerous for children", as Hendrahiem is in the middle of nowhere, although for me it wasn't that bad, since it's just a hop, skip, and a deadly chasm away from the farm. It is again surrounded by wolves, though these are at least living. The other one, Bloodchill, is a resplendent palace, underground, in a cave, at the peak of the mountain range seperating Eastmarch and The Pale. Fortunately though since I hadn't gone to BFB no dragons were around to yank me off the mountain, which they easily could've as a vampire mage in daylight is not very strong.
The other two houses are a bit different. Tundra Homestead is actually pretty useful, it's on the road going north by Whiterun, however it's a lot further south (not to mention cheaper) than Heljarchen Hall. And you don't have to spend several days building the place. Shadowfoot Sanctum on the other hand... Well it's a great home for a thief, preferably an Argonian one as it's a wee bit flooded, but despite the inclusion of a children's bedroom, I somewhat doubt the safety of the Ratway for children.
