That’s fair enough.
Slight change of topic, did y’all know “VTubers” were a thing?
So this is a clip from a longer interview that came up in those little recommended quick videos on YouTube. At first, I thought someone just made a reaction video mashing animation together with an existing interview or taking what that guy said out of context.
But no, looked a little further into it, that actually how the character looks live, on screen at least. She streams in a mo cap rig to create a digital persona, so when the other person is talking to her or if you are watching the Twitch, you see her as the animated character, not the actress/streamer. So, yes, up there on the list of incredible technology used for entertainment, this, at least to me, is in the same ballpark as the technology used to film the Mandalorian, with the real time VR sets the actors are filmed in.
When I went browsing around, found this that goes into more detail and talks about the “Vtuber” culture in addition to this one streamer.
It’s a super bizarre thing I guess I’ve just manage to never hear about. The part that stuck out most, was that in addition to folks who use it as a stream character, there’s influencers(tm) that are not drawn to be as cartoony, and are a whole other fake construct made real situation that’s certainly starting to boarder on grim dystopian future.
Is this a thing everyone knew about that I just stumbled on?
