I recently started following an “old homes” account on Instagram on a whim, and today, they shared the most interesting little place: a Lustron home.
Built as a response to many GIs returning after WWII and needing a place to settle down, Lustron homes are unique because they are made of pre-fab enameled steel, not wood, brick, or concrete. The choice for material was a result of shortages post-war.
Maybe I was out of the loop here and I’m posting something that’s common knowledge to people, but I thought it was really neat and that you all might be intrigued since the homes in Sanctuary Hills are so similar (and pretty clearly meant to be a Lustron-type home). Here are some of the interesting images I found:

A blue Lustron home in Ohio that greatly resembles those in Sanctuary Hills.
A yellow Lustron home in Missouri that greatly resembles those in Sanctuary Hills.
