Yeah, they were wise not to use Clinton or any other president for that matter. It would be too close of a connection to the real world and it would also date the game. I would like to think that the Fallout world had their own brand of stupid when it comes to politicians and not just a retread of our own two parties.

Using him or any other President would bring Fallout too close to our reality, which would ruin immersion and the feel of the game, in my opinion.

Not only would it be a gamble and would've led to a lot of controversy, it would've politicised the game with actual politics. It's all fun and games with fallout politics because it's not real. Then you cast a President as President Eden, in charge of an organisation not shy of committing genocide, and it gets serious. It could've had serious ramifications on Bethesda's future games and their image. I can think of a few of my friends from across the pond who would outright never play Fallout again because of their strong political beliefs.

It's a whole can of worms I'm happy they didn't open.
